Gelato Classico Italian Ice Cream – Authentic & Unique Flavors in Mountain View

The line was long but it goes fast if people make decision quick after having multiple samples. I sample the honey lavender and it was good but not the best but must try the lychee. It has the lychee fruits inside the gelato. Overall , perfect to cool down after lunch,

Affogato was really good specially the hazelnut flavour. Will definitely try again!

Gelato Classico is a popular Italian ice creamery that has delectable ice creams that come in varying cones, cone bowls, and paper cups. I like the “Chocolate Covered Strawberries” flavor which is a combination of smooth strawberry ice cream and crunchy chocolate chips. The main draw of Gelato Classico may be its diverse selection. For instance, you can get flavors like “Spumone”, “Tiramisu”, and surprisingly “Ginger”. You’d basically get value with each visit if you enjoy unique flavors. It’s important to note that its popularity means that the space itself can get crowded quickly. There is no space to eat indoors, but there are plenty of seats outside. In short, I would come back, the ice cream itself was smooth, flavorful, and this spot has lots of unique flavors that I’d want to test out.

Often long line but worth it! Such delightful flavors, they let you sample (good esp since likely many you’ve never tried here!), and just plain high-quality gelatin here! Definitely the best ice cream in downtown Mountain View, and a long-standing establishment, you will not be disappointed!

We went all in with Strawberry Fresca, Mocha Almond Fudge, and Caramello Chocolate Crunch, basically three separate scoops of happiness. The flavors are rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, like they’ve been training for the Gelato Olympics. Bonus points for the friendly vibe and that classic Castro Street energy.

UPDATE: They removed the no tasting policy. You can get a taste of any ice cream flavor you want to try now. And I take it back. They had the best gelato in the Bay Area. I like the vanilla bean gelato the most (always had to buy a whole pint to go). ====== Original Review ====== Good ice cream. Came here because they used to have the taste-before-purchase, but they don’t do that due to Covid-19, which is understandable. Nevertheless, the store is still packed with customers that they have to draw a line on the floor for customers to follow. It’s a small store and small door, so sometimes you xan bump into someone. Service was rushed, and because there were so many people, I couldn’t hear the server many times. We had to shout at each other to converse. Still, the ice cream is good and the staff was not rude, so 4 stars. Not outstanding ice cream but the experience was good enjoyable I got 4 flavors in a cup and it was amusing watching the staff smashing the ice cream into it. That was the fullest ice cream cup I have ever had.
